| We've posted a simple tutorial to assist aspiring course designers in creating courses for Duffers Golf. We're asking the community to use their creativity to construct unique, fun, and stunning courses for both the traditional and upcoming mini-golf modes of Duffers Golf. The most creative, well tested, and fun courses submitted to us by August 13th will be included in the Phase 4 release.

| June 9th, 2004: Internet Browser Issue - coil |
| The latest version shipped with a small problem that prevents Duffers servers from showing up in the server browser. To remedy this, find the DuffersUser.ini file in the /Duffers/System folder. Find the '[DuffersGUI.DGMultiplayerBrowserBase]' section and set 'bStandardServersOnly' to false. Start Duffers and servers will now be visible in the Internet server browser. |

| March 22nd, 2004: Progress Continues, Closed Beta Soon - coil |
| We're making progress on the game, and we're getting down to the myriad of small issues that you run into in a large project. We're planning to release a closed beta to a select few in short order, and take the feedback and bug reports and release our first public version sometime next month. Look for new screenshots in the next few weeks, as we move closer to release. |
| February 17th, 2004: Coilgames.com now online - coil |

| February 12th, 2004: Somebody say screenshots? - coil |
| The long-awaited new screenshots are up in the media section. These show the transistion we've made from terrain-based holes to using meshes. I think you'll agree that the difference is striking.
Development continues to push ahead, and we can actually play some golf now. We have some camera issues to deal with, but we're on track to have a closed beta sometime next month. This will be a by-invitation-only affair, and will only preceed the public release by a few weeks (hopefully), so please do not mail us asking for inclusion. |
| January 26th, 2004: Time Flies - coil |
| I know I promised screenshots of the new course, but it's taken longer than I had hoped. Progress is happening, and soon I'll be compiling a list for a closed beta, which will preceed our first release. Stay tuned.
On a personal note, I've started a game-related blog, where I talk shop from time to time. Check it out. |
| December 11th, 2003: Project Update - coil |
| It's been a while since we've given any status update on Duffers. We are toiling away and making progress. We have ditched the old way of making holes, and have switched to creating them entirely out of one mesh. This gives us several advantages, most notably they look much nicer, with seamless transistions from rough to fairway, and rough to bunker. We will be posting screenshots of the new course in the coming weeks.
Also we'd like to mention the addition of a new team member, Kevin Emigh. Kevin is an accomplished programmer and avid game player who will be contributing a major part of the Duffers codebase. |
